Quail Chick Hatching In Incubator
Watch one of our quail chicks hatch in the incubator. This is the 3rd chick we've had from our quail. It's amazing to see new life come into the world. Coturnix Quail take 18 days to hatch and can be laying their own eggs in as soon as 8 weeks.

Custom Built Quail Coop

So, I decided that rabbit hutches are for rabbits and built a quail mansion. The standard for Coturnix quail is 1 square foot per bird and this coop is 18sq ft which gives our dozen quail a lot more room. They already seem very happy with their new home. I've added some tree clippings to the coop because quail are ground birds and love to hide in the underbrush. I think it turned out pretty gre...

Generally curious question. I know pretty much nothing about these little guys. Why do yall keep them separate from the parents? Is it a hostility thing? Is it to make them imprint on yall so its easier to care for them? Im just curious why people use the incubation vs letting the mome sit on them :) I know I could google it, but Im curious why yall are doing it too. thanks in advance Side note thats a precious video, they are soo cute <3

Omg that was one of the most phenomenal things I've ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing that with us. I've never seen a baby bird come out like that. Just knowing how small that egg is and you could tell how hard it worked to get out and see how tired it was doing it. Absolutely amazing!!

So I am wondering how you know which eggs to put in the brooder? I have watched other videos where you got the eggs but it looks like you take them directly to the refrigerator? What step am I missing? 💕
I have hatched many chicken eggs. Since he knew he was going to incubate them, first he didn't wash them. Then set them on the counter until he had the amount he wanted. Then he put them in the incubator.
